Last Friday, the students worked on doing a little writing about their summer. Once they finished their writing, they worked on drawing two pictures in the sunglasses to go with the writing they had done. The final step was to use the iPads and an app called ChatterPix to talk about their summer.

Today we got started with building our reading stamina. We also learned about how to pick the just right books when we are reading. Take a look at our readers!
We are back from break and worked for the past couple of days to finish our shape poems. The students worked hard about thinking of words that describe the image they chose. They turned out great!
This week we have been working on our I am poems. They wrote only a portion of their poem on their PicCollage. It is great to see their own personality shown on their PicCollage.
We have been learning about synonyms and antonyms during reading and they are really starting to understand what the difference between the two of them. We did a PicCollage to help us remember.
We worked this week on creating our own "Ouch" stories about a time that they had gotten hurt. We used the words first, next, then, after that, and finally in our writing. They turned out great!
Before break, the students wrote a descriptive piece about their snowman. They had to try and figure out whose snowman was each persons based on their description.
The students recorded themselves reading one of the passages they highlighted yesterday. Was great to see everyone reading!
The students read passages with ai, ay, ee, and ea words in them. We have been working on the vowel pairs and the long sound that they make. While reading the passage, they used highlighters to find all combinations in the story. Last week we worked on some writing and the students in an AMAZING job of working with partners!
