We have been working on teamwork this week and last and they are really doing a nice job of working together. They did a cup stacking challenge and were not able to talk while doing it. It was hard for many of them to not talk while doing the activity and was nice to see them all working together. We did an activity today that had to do with a story we read, "My Mouth is a Volcano!" and they had to squeeze all of the toothpaste out and try and get it back in. This was to represent that we may say things that are hurtful and we can't take them back or act like they didn't happen.

Last week we worked on Friend Ven Diagrams and this year we switched it up and did them on the iPads. They turned out great!
After we took our aReading test, we needed something fun to do. When we have indoor recess for rain or too cold outside, there are activities that the scholars can do. They were doing so well with the practice that it was hard to stop them from practicing because they were SOOO engaged in what they were playing with. I'm sure they are looking forward to a rainy day or a super cold day to come. It's all about the scholars! Towards the end of the summer, I was remembering how important it is to have rich literature for the scholars to be exposed to and how I didn't have a large selection of books that represented them. It is something that I have been working on getting as many books that I can that represent more of my scholars. I chose to do a Donors Choose project and see if I could raise some money to purchase some books for our classroom. Guess what?!?!? It was funded! The boxes came in this last week and I posted this picture. The goal was to get them excited about MORE boxes to come. This last Friday, the boxes had all arrived and we got to open them! They were so excited and we discussed the reason I wanted to get the books. We are so grateful for those who donated and can't wait to read them!
We worked on some app smashing today! They used SeeSaw and Pic Collage to share what their interests are.
Before going to the library this afternoon, we read a book called, "You Will Be My Friend" and they did an activity to find friends.
We had a very busy second day of school with a lot of fun activities and continuing to learn about Panther Pride. We started the morning off with a math pre-test and then read a book called, "The Girl Who Never Made Any Mistakes." After reading the book, we did a STEM challenge on building a bridge that could hold 15 dinosaurs. So groups were more successful than others. But overall the lesson on being ok with making mistakes was nice to see. In the afternoon we read another book called, "Always in Trouble" and discussed what it will look, sound, and feel like when having to take a break. We wrapped up this with creating a ChatterPix on what they will do if they have to take a break.
ChatterPix-Take a Break
We had a very busy first day of school! The scholars were able to make a short video with a partner about what it is like to have Panther Pride on the playground. We used an app called Sock Puppets.
We had a busy first day back from spring break. It was a much needed break and they had a wonderful time sharing about their spring break. We used an app today called Tellagami to talk about what they all did over break. In the afternoon, we did some graffiti about different pictures. I personally LOVE to see engagement for all students and this was one that had high engagement.
Graffiti Work
We went to The Work's Museum this week and the students had a wonderful time. They were able to continue to learn and explore about sound, and in the end make something that creates sounds. The students got to experience all sorts of engineering stations in the museum. In the end, they got to FINALLY eat lunch. :)
